About Us

Hi, I'm Leon, founder of Artfunkle. We are an arts based business in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, and work throughout Northern Ireland. With a range of workshops, we are making art fun and accessible for everyone!

What is Artfunkle?

It's a mobile art studio, aiming to make art accessible for everyone. We can come to you and set up your very own studio in your chosen venue or at your own home.

It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours with old friends or making new ones, forget your problems and immerse yourself in the moment. We use the medium of art to promote positive mental health. It's a fun way of getting in touch with your creative side - don't worry, it's in there and we'll help you find it.

Artfunkle know's that everyone has an inner artist and we aim to make our workshops fun and relaxed to bring out the artist in YOU! For us it's all about the experience and the "feel good factor" so we don't do fine art- our art is for fun and enjoyment.

Once you pick up that brush and start, I promise, you won't want to put it down again.

Artfunkle is owned and run by Leon Hughes,  based in Dungannon but work throughout Northern Ireland delivering arts and crafts workshops and programmes. Leon has over 20 years youth work and teaching experience. She has always had a love for arts and crafts and upcycling, she combines these skills and experience to create fun, interactive and non judgmental workshops that can be enjoyed by all ages.

We cater for birthday parties, hen parties and offer Private Paint and Sip events at your own venue.

A note from Leon

I’ve always loved creating and making things from items that no longer have a purpose. I collect boxes of stuff that “I could use for something”, I don’t like wasting or throwing things out-my husband calls it hoarding lol.  I use acrylic paint for all my workshops but the sessions can vary widely from canvas painting, clay making (keyrings, magnets, seasonal themed decorations) craft based activities, wooden signs, wishing trees with individually created clay decorations etc
